I’m running for county board to influence

Kane County’s move toward better governance

for current and future residents

Kane County is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. The saying, “it takes a village to raise a child” can be experienced through our public schools, public parks, pools, libraries, and community organizations that contribute to growth and development for people of all ages and abilities.

Meet Kate

Kate is a 23-year resident of Campton Township with more than 30 years of executive-level experience operating nonprofit organizations that contribute meaningfully to the quality of life enjoyed in our local communities.

News

  • Illinois EPA initially identified forever chemicals in the Elburn Community Water System. On retest–no PFAS were found (whew!)
  • Campton Township has one of the highest densities of private wells in Illinois per the Illinois State Water Survey. Over consumption in Northeastern Illinois can lead to dry wells locally and necessitate deeper drilling into the St Peter aquifer with an average depth of 349 ft.
  • On May 18 the Daily Herald reported a 500,000 gallon deficiency per day in St Charles
  • The city of Aurora has passed the Responsible Data Center Ordinance that requires a detailed water plan and water consumption reporting for data center developers

My goals:

  • Restoring trust in county government through responsiveness to community concerns, Collaboration with community members, and Determination to represent and serve the community
  • Fair and balanced budgeting to support operations of county departments and elected offices, and accountability to constituents
  • Ensuring that water resources are protected from over-consumption by new development and that TIF agreements be strictly scrutinized for the cost/benefit to residents

The County Board is authorized to appropriate budget resources to county departments and elected offices. Demands for revenue growth need to be balanced with expense management while county obligations to staff and residents are respected and fullfilled.

What Kate stands for
